The MGC (Multi-Grade Combined) anti-plugging screen is an innovative sand control device that has been widely used in wells with sand plugging challenges. The unique design uses a wire-wrap screen as the supporting layer between perforated base pipe and metal mesh screens, which greatly enhances longitudinal flows between base pipe and filter media.
Due to the enhanced longitudinal 'flush', sand bridges formed on the filter screens could be removed easily, the 'self-cleaning' feature minimizes the possibility of sand plugging.
